Comparison between Fistulotomy vs Fistulotomy with Marsupialization in Simple Low Anal Fistulae: A Randomized Control Trial

Objective: To compare the efficacy of fistulotomy with marsupialization vs alone in treatment simple low lying anal fistula terms wound healing and postoperative pain. Study Design: Randomized control trial Place Duration: Department General Surgery, JPMC Karachi, duration was 6 months from 23rd Aug 2020 to Feb 2021. Methodology: Sixty patients either gender having ages 25-60 years presented were included this study. Detailed demographics recorded after taking informed written consent all patients. Patients divided two groups. Fistulotomy performed on 30 group A B. asked choose envelop labelled B for randomization. All followed up 24 hours surgery weekly interval 4 weeks determine outcomes pain score. Data analyzed by SPSS 23.0. Results: In mean age 43.633+8.568 while 41.800+9.813 years. The Pain score 6.100+0.922 it 5.033+0.718 overall 5.566+0.980. 5th day 4.266+0.639 2.833+0.698 3.550+0.981.
